Explore One of Austin's Walkable LGBTQ-Friendly Neighborhoods

We like to say that the whole city of Austin feels like a gayborhood, but if you're looking for a walkable neighborhood with the largest number of LGBTQ+ nightclubs, patio bars and basement lounges then Downtown Austin's Warehouse District is the place to go. There’s something happening all day and all darkness in this city center.

This tropical-themed bar is also known as one of the dance parties in town. The rooftop nightclub hosts local DJs six nights a week and tunes range from disco funk to Afro to electric and everything in between.

Sister exclude to Coconut Club, Cuatro Gato serves up Latin sounds along with a bevvy of beer, mezcal, wine and cocktails from South of the border. "Coffee shop by time, perreo by night," save an eye on their Instagram for themed nights, drag shows and other special events.

Bathe Debuts Social Bathhouse in Austin

Austin is gaining a Texas-sized bathhouse.

What’s happening:Bathe is prepping the city’s first social bathing concept, with its outdoor space initially debuting this April as a private members-only club.

Texas two-step. A phased opening, this month’s soft launch of the outdoor garden will showcase three types of Harvia saunas, Fjord cold plunges, and heated soaks from Cowboy Pools and Nordsprings.

The indoor phase two (expected early 2026) completes the 11K-sq-ft progress, hosting multiple in-ground mineral pools, event sauna with aufguss rituals, halotherapy salt cave, immersive sound therapy beds, and body scrub and spa treatments.

Otherworldly. Envisioning a space that redefines how people connect, co-founders Danyl and Lisa Magick took inspiration from European sauna culture and the Burning Man festival to create an immersive, art- and plant-filled wellness experience.

Prohibiting phones and alcohol, Bathe opts for live DJ performances, nonalcoholic adaptogenic drinks, and eats from Austin gluten-free superfood upstart The Enchanted Waffle.
