Episode: Good LGBTQ+ Stories

ShanniiWrites1

I finally got around to making a brand-new one of these. The Good Stories That Don’t Use Gems thread is going well! So since that one is productive, why not start some other ones to enhance traffic and promote all of the amazing stories out there?

This time, we’re looking for stories with amazing LGBTQ+ characters. Either the MC or the love interest should be a member of the LGBTQ+ community or both! Or, LGBTQ+ issues should affect the story plot in some way.

The way this post works is pretty straightforward.

This is a wiki post, so anyone with a high enough trust level will be able to post their most loved stories – as long as they fit the brief! Revise and add as many as you want to. There are a scant rules, though. Please verify those first!

Without further ado…

Damsels in Distress

The vet’s heart
Bad Boy in Town

Ace of Hearts - Yueliang

Not One Less
Merin: Secrets Untold
The Fourth Floor

Snakebitten
Blue Eyed Blond

College Days: Crystallized
Can’t Keep It Inside
Waiting In The Wings
Precarious Betrayal by Queen Jay

(If I’ve forgotten any genres, please feel free to insert them!)

Reckon True Stories, Episode 2: Roxane Gay

By Ursa Editors

Dear friends,

This week on Reckon Correct Stories, Deesha Philyaw and Kiese Laymon welcome the incredible Roxane Gay!

Listen in your favorite podcast app, and be sure to follow the show so you never miss an episode:

“We bring our whole lives, our whole selves, our whole communities to the page, and I want to create territory for that reality in my work, and I want to make sure that other writers own access to that cosmos, because so often we’re told to section off ourselves.”

Get the full reveal notes and reading list over at Reckon.

Deesha and Kiese in Vanity Fair

Thanks to everyone who has listened, shared, and reviewed Reckon True Stories so far — the response has been overwhelming. Deesha and Kiese spoke with Arimeta Diop at Vanity Fair about their goals for the show and some of their favorite moments:

Philyaw: “I didn’t understand Kiese when I was reading Heavy. I was like, here’s this guy who feels like I feel and he’s doing this thing anyway, and I was just in awe of that. And so being able to talk about that with Kiese was really a transformative moment for me.”

Into the Wild - Conclusion Love Camping

Hey everyone, welcome back to the podcast. Today, I've got a story that's close to my heart—a tale of adventure, friendship, and the unexpected twists that experience can bring. It's called "Into the Wild," and it's about two foremost friends, Jake and Liam, who set out on a camping trip that changes everything. In this story, you'll hear me stepping into the shoes of Jake, a guy who's recently been through a lot and is looking for some clarity. Jake's best friend from college, Liam, joins him on this trip, unaware of the deeper feelings Jake has been harboring for him.As they journey into the wilderness, they'll encounter more than just the challenges of nature. They'll confront their own fears, desires, and the bond that holds them together. This isn't just a story about camping; it's about discovering the courage to be honest with yourself and with the person who means the most to you.So, position back, relax, and link me as we dive into "Into the Wild." Trust me, this is one adventure you won't want to miss.
