Kinsey Scale Test

Dr. Alfred Kinsey, Dr. Wardell Pomeroy, and Dr. Clyde Martin developed the Heterosexual-Homosexual Rating Scale, also known as the “The Kinsey Scale,” in order to account for research findings that showed that people did not fit into exclusive heterosexual or homosexual categories.

The Kinsey team interviewed thousands of people about their sexual histories. Research showed that sexual behavior, thoughts, and feelings towards the matching or opposite sex were not always consistent across time.

Did you perceive that as of February 2022, Gallup found that 7.1 percent of US adults openly identity as LGBTQ+? (That's lesbian, homosexual, bisexual, trans, queer, and other non-straight identities.) That’s a pretty staggering statistic, given that just 10 years earlier, only 3.5 percent of respondents identified themselves as LGBT.

Therefore, more than 20 million adults self-identified as LGBTQ+ in the US as of 2022. That doesn’t even include people who aren’t sure or publicly out about how their identities! The true number of LGBTQ+ American adults today could be millions more.
