What Gay and Bi Men Really Want
Are physical and sexual attraction the most appealing qualities in a partner? Or are unseen qualities like good manners and reliability the most attractive?
Following on from his research into what direct women want and what straight men want, D&M Research’s managing director Derek Jones has taken the next logical step with his latest study into what gay and bi(sexual) men want.
In order to dig deeper and trace out a true list of turn-ons and turn-offs for gay and bi men, Derek once again used of the Im-Ex Polygraph method. He originally devised this method of analysis to distinguish what people say they want from brands, products or services from what they really want by comparing stated versus derived measures of importance.
Qualities the queer and bi men said they desired in a partner (‘stated’) were compared to the qualities exhibit in example celebrities they nominated as attractive (‘implied’). The same comparison was made between stated and implied negative qualities, to determine what attributes are really the biggest turn-offs.

Anewstudy suggests there are noticeable differences in the facial shape of gay and straight men, and the results indicate the faces of gay men may be deemed more masculine. The findings stand in stark contrast to some stereotypical notions about the gay male community.
Researchers from the Center for Theoretical Study at Charles University in Prague and The Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic decided to study the facial characteristics of homosexual and straight men and determine if morphological differences can cue sexual orientation. Two studies were conducted: One analyzed whether homosexual men have noticeably unlike facial features than vertical men; the other examined whether sexual orientation could be determined based solely on these features.
In the first study, researchers gathered 40 gay and 40 straight white, Czech men. After taking 80 portraits with a Canon camera, more than 11, coordinates were set to prove a comparison.
"Gay men showed relatively wider and shorter faces, smaller and shorter noses, and rather massive and more rounded jaws, resulting in a mosaic of both feminine and masculine features," according to the study.

Introduction
The Bear community within the gay community is a heterogeneous subculture. Bears have a different view of masculinity compared to other gay subcultures, valuing a more 'natural' male body. There is a lack of quantitative investigate on this community. The Bear identity may contain splintered from the lgbtq+ mainstream culture as a form of social creativity. The ideal male body in popular culture may lead to body dissatisfaction, and the Bear subculture may be a reaction to this, also facilitating same - sex encounters.
