Why do men like long legs

It has been shown that height is one of the morphological traits that influence a person&#;s attractiveness. To date, not many studies have addressed the relationship between different components of height and physical attractiveness. Here, we research how leg length influences attractiveness in men and women. Stimuli consisted of seven different pictures of a man and seven pictures of a lady in which the ratio between leg length and height was varied from the average phenotype by elongating and shortening the legs. One hundred men and women were asked to assess the attractiveness of the silhouettes using a seven-point scale. We found that male and female pictures with shorter than average legs were perceived as less attractive by both sexes. Although longer legs appeared to be more attractive, this was true only for the slight (5%) leg length increase; excessively distant legs decreased body attractiveness for both sexes. Because leg length conveys living quality, we hypothesize that such preferences reflect the workings of evolved mate-selection mechanisms. I guess I am somewhat of a late bloomer. I only discovered I was same-sex attracted around age 12 or Prior to that, I assumed I was heterosexual (although in hindsight, I might have been bi).
Anyways, starting at that age, in any event, I have been pretty consistent though. In my thoughts, my feelings, my preferences.
I remember when I was in the 8th grade, this upperclassman came in to tell us about his experiences in elevated school. I was the early 80’s, and it was still technically summer, I think. So he was wearing short shorts, naturally. And I noticed what nice legs he had. Apparently though, I was a little too obvious in this. And the kids teased me non-stop about it for the rest of the year (kids can be so cruel, as they say).
But what does creature attracted to men’s legs indicate? It is fairly common for hetero men to be attracted to women’s legs, I grasp. But men’s legs rarely (though I wouldn’t state never) enter the equation.

Jan. 17, &#; -- If you include legs and know how to use them, then both men and women are more likely to find you attractive, according to a new research from researchers at Wroclaw University in Poland.
The research corroborated conventional wisdom, which has long held that men find women with longer legs more attractive.
"Legginess is something that we know men opt favor in mates. The news in this research is that women prefer longer legs in mates," said UCLA associate psychology professor Martie Haselton.
The affinity for gammy people has been showcased in movies appreciate "Pretty Woman," in which Julia Roberts' legs provided some emotional therapy to Richard Gere, and Vince Vaughn's legs crashed weddings and broke hearts in "Wedding Crashers."
Researchers asked more than male and female volunteers to rate the attractiveness of seven male and female images. All the people in the images were similar the height, but each had different leg lengths, which varied 5, 10 and 15 percent longer than the social norm.
The majority preferred legs 5 percent longer than average, followed by those that were 10 percent

Researchers have spent far less time studying men’s attraction to women’s legs than the usual man on the road devotes to gazing at them and maybe evidence himself spellbound by them. To heterosexual males at least, what’s so exceptional about female gams?
In preparation for this post, I first examined what evolutionary biologists have theorized about this phenomenon, and establish most of their findings limited and inconclusive. Two of scientists' discoveries, however (see, , “Why execute men lust after women with long legs?”) appear to confirm what most men (lay experts that they are) already grasp intuitively: That is, studies have shown that men prefer women with longer-than-average legs, and they also favor women who include a higher leg length to body ratio—and, interestingly, the opposite is correct of women’s preferences in men.
Still, my later study of several web forums centering on this age-old topic was much more fertile. And they are what constitute the main focus of this publish.
