What if, in 2012, one of the One Guide boys decided to reveal the world he was gay? Would his umpteen million devoted female fans take the news OK? That is the interrogate I asked Lance Bass during an interview on my SiriusXM show, The Six Pack.
"I actually think they would," Bass said, without hesitating. "The younger generation is way smarter than we were. They're way more perceptive, and they just don't care. ... Back then there was no way in hell I would come out."
These are bold words coming from Bass, practically the founding father of the yes-I'm-gay pop-star narrative. Bass is a veteran of the boy-band machine, which has experienced a major resurgence since the rise of the UK's One Direction and The Wanted. In 2006, four years after *NSYNC announced its plans to go on hiatus, he finally came out publicly, appearing on the cover of People Magazine with the headline "I'M GAY."
Have minds and perceptions really changed as adv as Bass believes? If 1D's Harry or Zayn or Louis or Niall or Liam (did I forget any?) were actually to come out, would they be welcomed with open arms, both by their fans and the industry they've revitalized?

One Direction Star Finds It Hard To Deal With Gay Rumors

One Command star Louis Tomlinson has hit out at fans on Twitter who maintain to suggest that he's in a reationship with bandmate, Harry Styles.
Earlier this year, Louis laughed off the gay rumours, telling radio station KXXAS that their US fans "genuinely, seriously think that we’re in a partnership. It’s so funny!" He also revealed that some devotees were so convinced that they were an item, that they had nicknamed the lads Larry Stylinson. Then in July, Tomlinson slammed the allegations, stating that they were affecting the way himself and Styles behaved with each other, adding he only had eyes for girlfriend, Eleanor Calder.
He told Storyboard: "This is a subject that was funny at first but now is actually complicated to deal with, as I am in a relationship. "Me and Harry are best friends. People look into our every move - it is actually affecting the

When there isn't that much news to report we turn to the tribute that keeps on giving: One Direction.
So what's modern in their world of male teenage hormones? Skillfully two of 'em are NOT happy. Just because Louis and Harry are close does not indicate that they are homosexual, despite what many publications are assuming. Now if one of them were to come out as gay, we'd happily announce this news to you, we're sure many hearts would break, but we certainly won't be making assumptions about their sexuality based purely on their friendly nature with one another.
The Mirror report this morning that Louis Tomlinson has 'lost his rag' over the rumours that himself and Styles are in a relationship. He's now pleading for the rumours to stop, telling fans online that all the gay jokes just aren't funny any more.
The pair are often snapped taking the piss with cameras, tweeting pictures of themselves kissing and putting on jokey little PDAs for the paps but as the lads themselves have said, it's just a bit of amusement. Sure Louis has a stunner of a distant time girlfriend and Harry's with a different aged age pensioner every week.

The One Direction lads (SCREAM!) are pretty popular with the females of earth Earth - the sight of them causes some girls to squeal, faint, leap into the wind or literally explode with excitement on the spot.
So it would be a sad, sad thing for the ladies if they found out Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Liam Payne were not interested in them.
And Lance Bass, who was formerly a member of American boyband 'N Sync, thinks this may be the case - he reckons one of 1D might be gay.
Lance is somewhat of an expert in this area having a fancying for the males himself but he doesn't consider we'll find out if any members of One Direction are hiding their true sexuality as he believes record company bosses frown upon revealing this information.
